Planning Committee

Purpose of committee

The Planning Committee deals with all regulatory matters relating to development control in respect of functions vested in the Council as Local Planning Authority, including the determination of all applications not delegated to Officers. It also exercises the Council’s powers relating to rights of way and the regulatory aspects of building control.


Members of the public can, in certain circumstances, address Planning Committee. Further information is available at Speaking at Planning Committee


In light of the current situation with Covid-19 and the introduction of Regulations to allow for remote council meetings, all Planning Committees will currently be held as ‘virtual meetings’. A link to view the meeting will be available on the particular Planning Committee meeting agenda webpage ahead of the meeting date.
