Purpose of report

 

This report provides an update on the current issues on the A43.

 

Recommendations

 

1.1          To note the current position concerning proposals for improvements to the A43 whilst also recognising the potential for improvements through proposed development north of Towcester.

 

1.2          To continue to engage with Highways England and development site promoters.

(1)  That the current position concerning proposals for improvements to the A43 and the potential for improvements through proposed development north of Towcester be noted.

 

(2)  That current levels of engagement with Highways England and development site promoters be maintained, with an increased emphasis on ongoing safety issues.

Purpose of report

 

For Members to consider the assessment of Cold Higham and whether Cold Higham is an area “of special architectural or historic interest the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance” (S69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990) and, therefore, justify designation as a conservation area.

 

Recommendations

            

1.1       That following the assessment, not to designate Cold Higham as a conservation area as the village does not fulfil the criteria to justify            designation.
